As I learn more and more about fashion, and developing my own personal style (a life long journey) I find myself wearing less and less, not more.
Specifically I mostly wear a camo cap, fitted light weight white tee, raw selvedge denim, crew socks, Made in USA Newbies, and on a colder day I'll pop a grey unembellished hoody on.
So in an effort to create my own version of all these thing so I can stock my closet, we actually ended up creating some pretty incredible product. The tees (Made in Cali) fit just like a 90s hanes tee. A breath of fresh air in the "the boxier and heavier the better" tee trend we seem to be in. The socks are a much higher quality and more comfortable product than our former conventional sock. A custom developed camo 5 panel cap, made in Brooklyn, that is going to get better and better with age as a cap should. Our first time working with Softgoods Detroit was an absolute success as this loopback raglan hoody is the best hoody I have ever worn and it's not close. And of course, the selvedge.
Selvedge is very hard to make, especially starting from scratch and not enlisting the help of a specialty jean factory. They took an entire year to develop, with lots of blood sweat and tears shed along the way. But the end product is pretty damn great. I wore the final sample every day for 100 days, and they held up and grew more and more beautiful, as a high quality jean should. This is probably the most proud of a new product I have ever been, and we will only continue to perfect the process. The raw selvedge world is a bit initimidating and "leaving it to the experts" and heritage brands who have been making specialty denim for decades is usually the default setting. I feel like if it takes decades to perfect the process, then we better start now. One day we'll be in that conversation as well. More soon!
