The Evergreen Sweater

I come from a town with a lot of history. The road I grew up on as a kid (West Rocks Rd.) was named for it's location relative to the rock that marked the line at which all the homes in Norwalk were burned by the British army in the revolutionary war. There are stories about how the islands and sand bars surrounding my town were very hard for the British navy to navigate, and we'd ambush them from the wooded islands. We sunk a lot of their boats so they burned our town to the ground. It's a long running joke that Connecticut is not considered as "New England" as the rest of the six states in our region (really just because some of us root for New York sports teams (fuck tom brady go Giants.) But if big old colonial homes with plaques reading years that predate our country and survived burning by the British, in a state where they wrote the fucking constitution isn't as New England as it gets then I don't know what to tell you. NE forever and ever. But also go Yanks. Also we have the best pizza.
