The term "Oxford cloth" was originally a marketing ploy by a Scottish textile mill to attempt to target wealthier college graduates and students with some unique but subtle weaving patterns. They actually had four styles for sale, all named after some of the most prestigious schools in the world. You know the Oxford cloth but they also made Cambridge cloth, Harvard cloth and, yes, Yale cloth. The Oxford cloth is the only one that caught on, and in fact the only one we have a record of. None of the others survived or were even documented. We don't know what they looked like. So I'm taking it upon myself to title this lovely, slubby, colorful weft yarn having herringbone fabric. Introducing the Yale Cloth button down. Enjoy.
