The Monadnock Fleece Short in Slate

Mount Monadnock is the first mountain I ever climbed with my father. I was 10 years old. Halfway up he asked me if I was thirsty, and pointed to a running spring. Water comes from the earth? Not a bottle? Faucet? At the top tadpoles swam in shallow pools carved into the rock. Moral of the story? Go climb a fucking mountain. That is all.
